On October 29, 2018, a helicopter operated by Enbridge crashed on the eastern portion of the Bad River
Reservation. The Bad River Natural Resources Department (BRNRD) has been evaluating the impacts of
this crash, including the release of hazardous substances, and reviewing the remediation options. The
BRNRD has requested Enbridge implement an in-situ bioremediation option (an option that would clean
up the contamination in place using naturally occurring organisms) to remediate this remote site.
Details of the in-situ bioremediation option proposed are available at the BRNRD. (READ MORE)
