Coordinated Community Response (CCR)
The Bad River CCR Program was recently revived under a grant obtained through the US Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women. Though in its organizational infancy, the objective of the Program when fully implemented will be two-fold; to protect and effectively help victims of abuse and to hold accountable those who abuse.
In communities throughout the US (and Europe) it has been shown that an organized coordination of the objectives, resources and responses of localized law enforcement, prosecutorial, judicial, probationary, medical and other service-providing agencies which are involved in domestic violence promotes inter-agency cooperation which, in turn, increases agency effectiveness, improves victim protection and usually results in a decrease in number of domestic violence incidents.
The Bad River CCR Program will incorporate the practices and procedures of other near-by and national CCR models known to be successful in order to accomplish the Program’s two-fold objective and to work toward the unstated objective of eliminating all forms of interpersonal abuse.
