Job Title:                              Facilities Manager

Hourly Rate:                        $17.00 - $20.00/hr                Full Time – 40 Hours

Supervisor:                          Tribal Operations Manager

Summary: Will organize and supervise all facility management activities, coordinate and supervise preventive maintenance programs, custodial services and other related support services operations for all tribal facilities. Will oversee and maintain multiple buildings and will manage/maintain mechanical supplies for all facilities. Facilities Manager will supervise maintenance, custodial, and security staff, schedule and assign staff to accommodate the maintenance and security needs of all tribal facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Will develop an annual operation and maintenance budget for the Administration Building and all the tribal facilities.
  • Establish and implement facility and grounds standards for all tribal facilities, review and upgrade standards annually.
  • Will develop and implement plan for management, supervision and coordination of prevention and general maintenance program activities for all tribal facilities.
  • Responsible for the operation and periodic inspection of the mechanical and electrical systems in all facilities.
  • Will coordinate with Bad River Fire Chief and/or other tribal staff the periodic inspection of all facilities to detect safety hazards and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Establish a preventive maintenance program & capital improvement project list.
  • Manage custodial services, grounds upkeep, safety and other related support service operations for all facilities including assignment of maintenance and security personnel in those areas.

Education and/or Experience:


High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Three (3) years experience in industrial maintenance field.

Two (2) years experience in the use of commercial/institutional cleaning and maintenance equipment.

One (1) year experience taking and keeping inventory.

Supervisory experience required.


Demonstrate experience in maintenance and operation of facilities, with knowledge of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.

Other Skills and Abilities:


This is a required driver position.

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet eligibility for tribal insurance.

Must possess ability to maintain effective relations.

Experience with computers and current software applications required.

Background Check:

This position is contingent on ability to pass background check required. This position requires a regular background check, and required driver check to be run.

Reasoning Ability:

Motivation to learn and thrive on customer service.

Language Skills:

Strong oral and written communication skills required.

Walking and standing required. Bending, stooping, and occasional lifting and carrying for short distances up to 50 pounds is required. Skills needed to use equipment to transport large objects required. Facilities Manager will be required to work in variety of weather and environmental conditions.
